Gene therapy… a way to a Black Swan?

As an example:

“ProSavin, the new treatment, uses a 'stripped-down' virus to transport dopamine-making genes into the brain.

It is injected into a region called the striatum that helps control movement.

Once the virus gets into the brain cells, it reprogrammes them to gradually start producing their own dopamine.”

I think that there is a huge expectation that gene therapy in general will generate a Black Swan.  And the idea is still novel and not yet fully explored… Who knows? Probably the insertion of a specific gene into cells can be found very useful. As examples, genes for insulin production, genes for cocaine synthesis, genes for Persian language learning – I do not know! However, if scientists are able to make the gene therapy process technically simple, so it will be profited in some way, there is no doubt about it! But the only technology is not yet enough - we have just to wait until the whole technological packet is developed which unfortunately can take some time…
