Dr Rath. Presentation. Analysis

Here is very interesting presentation. It is very useful from different point of view. However I do not completely agree with all conclusions and observations, however I think that the aurhors have taken very important issues. On the other hand, what we can see here is an attempt to create a new Dirty Swan. The idea is simple: to convince people that usual pharma's drugs are not efficient (it is probably true in a some extent! No doubt about it!) and propose another panacea in form of vitamins and micro-nutrients. Does this change the paradigm? Not very much. Instead of commercialization of patented drugs Big Pharma (and generic companies) will switch their interest to commercialization of vitamins and other stuff.

Dr Rath and company use the same approach that the modern science does: they are trying to show in a mechanistic way how molecular compounds can work against cancer which is almost the same vicious key-lock concept which widely exploited by Big Pharma. Dr Rath simply believes in existence of therapeutic target for cancer (as a lock) which can be treated with vitamins (as a key). The same “magic bullet” approach. Well, vitamins and micro-nutrients cannot cure cancer and I think that they are not efficient in cancer treatment, in any way not more efficient than placebo. Otherwise it could be already tested in phase 3 against usual chemotherapy as I have already mentioned. Actually it is stated that more than 100 clinical trials are tested the hypothesis, and guess what? The Big Pharma is not yet killed by these trials (which plain simply means that something is wrong with Dr Rath hypothesis).

However, the concept of “Natural Health” is quite progressive from my point of view and has to be widely used in application to prevention of different diseases.

Moreover, the authors have described very simple but logical the vicious cycle how Big Pharma profits health illiteracy of the population (parts 4-6).

Moral aspects of the modern pharmaceutical industry are very impressively presented on part 6.

Very interesting presentation. Highly recommended.
